CD-Recording with THE WAVE QUARTET

...the most beautiful CD I have listened to in the last few years..., ...I have no word to express what this music moves in me...

CD-Recording with Salzburg Barock

The fascinating combination of the Marimba with its modern sound and the versatile tone colour
of the gut strung instruments create a sensual and unique interpretation of J.S. Bachs famous Concerti
BWV 1060 - 1062.
The part of the two harpsichords is distributed to 4! Marimbas but is delivered in perfect unision like being played by one body.
Bach himself arranged concerts from Violin and oboe, respective two violins later on for cembali. In this sense Bogdan Bacanu, while arranging the music, follows the path of old customs into our time, still faithful to the musical text and its historic interpretation.

Music is art, and when Bogdan plays on his marimba he creates artwork. There are only a few marimba-players that go beyond “playing a piece of music”, and Bogdan is definitely one of them. When he plays, the music becomes part of him, and he is gifted with the ability to transfer this feeling to his audience. Based on my personal experiences with Bogdan I can say without doubt that marimba-music is what he lives for, and that he was born to be an artist. It is needless to say that we are very proud that this true artist is playing on an Adams Marimba. He can exploit the possibilities of his Adams Marimba to its full potential, from a transparent pianissimo up to a powerful fortissimo.

In conclusion I would like to point out that it is impossible to explain in words how Bogdan’s work of art sounds. You can only find out just how good he is by listening to his music…
Frans Swinkels / Manager from ADAMS Musical Instruments

... He is different, he is deep, spiritual, strong, can even be violent, and yet incredibly romantic, sensitive, sensual. His approach to music is an approach from within... Music is more than a religion for him, it is his own essence, his reason for being alive...

... With fantastic technique and interpretation, accompanied by the corporal dynamism, one minute he made us vibrate with the loud, impacting and rhythmical percussion and the next, they made us feel emotional with warm melodies from Bach. The surprise melody, with explosive rhythm and help from the actual floor of the stage, enraptured the audience” ...

... the devil is amongst us ... we do not want to offend him by calling him a devil, but for more than an hour, he jumped from one end to the other of the marimba resolving ever increasing difficulties with great master ship .... diabolical ...

... simply fabulous..... impeccable technique and fabulous musicality.... dynamics go from the most subtle pianissimos to the most vigorous fortissimos....they stood out for their virtuosity and the numerous contrasts ...
